Everyone is talking about renewable energy these days. Wind Power is one source of renewable energy that Pinnacle Steel is proud to be part of.
The Glacier Wind Farm is located on the hills between Cut Bank and Shelby in north central Montana. This project when finished will produce 210 mega watts of renewable electrical power and require a 500 million dollar investment.
The first phase of Glacier Wind consists of 71 wind turbines generating 106.5 megawatts. The turbines installed at Glacier Wind were built at the West Branch Iowa plant owned by Accionia, a Spain-Based Tech Company. The power produced at Glacier Wind will be purchased by San Diego Gas and Electric and is headed for homes and businesses in California.
Pinnacle Steel supplied all of the steel structures needed for the substation constructed at the Glacier Wind Farm. We worked with NaturEver and EPC Services to complete this project.
The lead times and delivery schedule for the Glacier Wind project were tight. Pinnacle Steels’ ability to produce quality fabricated product in 4 to 6 weeks enabled us to meet the required schedule. Pinnacle Steel shipped over 70,000 pounds of galvanized steel for this project.
